Side Effects: Prostate

Early side effects from radiosurgery or SBRT may occur early during or after treatment, and are typically gone within a few weeks. Late side effects can occur months or years later; such effects may require intervention. Side effects may include:


  • Constipation / urge/ fecal incontinence
  • Urinary retention / urge / frequency / incontinence
  • Blood in stool
  • Injury to rectal or bladder wall / nearby tissue
  • Erectile dysfunction
