Side Effects: Liver

Early side effects can occur during or immediately after treatments, and are typically gone within a few weeks. Late side effects can occur months or years later; some may require intervention. Side effects may include:


  • Liver pain
  • Nausea / vomiting
  • Fatigue / weakness / lethargy
  • Rib pain and/or fracture
  • Injury to nearby tissue, e.g., bowel
  • Radiation-induced liver disease (RILD)
  • Complications due to fiducial marker insertion
