Patient Forum

The CyberKnife Patient Forum is designed to provide a place for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, their family and friends, to exchange useful information and provide support to one another. The Forum may also help people find answers to questions they have about the CyberKnife treatment experience. Accuray strives to facilitate these exchanges and encourage discussions. Recently we have experienced some aggressive or inappropriate spam postings. We are diligently working to resolve this issue and thank you in advance for your patience.

Hi thank you for letting me join this forum My daughter in 2011 was diagnosed with a grade 3 brain tumor, she has chemo and radio therapy, she was in remission, last October the MRI showed slight growth in the tumor. The doctor said in his opinion chemo would be best option, my daughter said no because it made her so ill, he said he would refer her to another hospital for cyber knife treatment. The hospital gave the go ahead and she has her first treatment on Wednesday, next Thursday, next Friday. What I would like to know is how affective is this treatment, and what ius the survival rate. I live in Turkey and she lives in London so I relie on sites like this because I don't want to keep asking her questions. It came as a great shock, to learn that she had this tumor she is only 42. Thanks for reading thius

What type of tumor is it? Grade III just describes the aggressiveness.
