Patient Forum

The CyberKnife Patient Forum is designed to provide a place for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, their family and friends, to exchange useful information and provide support to one another. The Forum may also help people find answers to questions they have about the CyberKnife treatment experience. Accuray strives to facilitate these exchanges and encourage discussions. Recently we have experienced some aggressive or inappropriate spam postings. We are diligently working to resolve this issue and thank you in advance for your patience.

I had Cyberknife on my only kidney this past June.  In April
my kidney  bled profusely and my scans did indicate the
blood supply in the tumor had increased.  My scan in
October indicated the blood supply in the tumor was gone
and they think the Cyberknife may have destroyed the tumor.
They are hoping for actual shrinkage for the next scan. I had
the treatment at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston and they
have already treated 25 kidney patients. If someone is down
to only one kidney and the tumor is not operable I would recommend trying Cyberknife.  Absolutely painless and it
does work.

Thanks. Several centers are treating kidney cancer patients, and we feel that it represents an area that definitely needs more development. I don't think we have had a single failure at our center thus far, although I have not reviewed our data formally.
