In most centers, the RO will be present at the start of the treatment, or at least in the department in case any decisions are required. There is no value in having the RO sit there and watch the treatment.

The Technicians are the experts in positioning you and operating and monitoring the CK machine during the treatment. I believe the radiation physicists create the "plan" or program the machine runs during treatment. Each patient has a custom "plan". I believe the RO stipulates the treatment specifications of each plan. I would like a Dr. to correct any mis-understanding I have of the above and/or add to my understanding. A Dr. might also make a comment on the level of education & training each of the first two groups are required to have. I'm basing my belief's from working in a hospital over 28 years ago. I bet things might have changed since. Thanks ! Jim V.
